One of the well-known indicators of sealed insulating glass window performance is revealed by careful measurements of air space dew/frost point and its rate of increases. The D-100 apparatus is a special apparatus developed specially for this purpose. It is the test apparatus of ASTM Standards, E-546 ,E-576, and IGCCStandard for frost point measurement. This D-100 apparatus was selected as 1975 Winner of the 13th Annual IR-100 Award Competition conducted by Industrial Research Magazine to select the 100 most significant new technical products of each year.
It is easy and quick to use; it is reliable and repeatable. Using a digital temperature readout of 0.1 F (or 0.1 C) resolution, the temperature can be easily controlled within 0.2 F (or 0.2 C). Using a bimetallic dial thermometer of 2 F (or 1 C) scale, the temperature can be controlled within 2 F (or 1 C) Reproducible dew/frost point is measurable well within 1 F (or 0.5 C) and 2 F (or 1 C), respectively.
D-100 apparatus is an excellent tool for both research and production line quality control ("go" "No go" check), and can be operated for 3 to 4 hours with one charge of dry ice. Since D-100 apparatus can be used in any orientation, the unit can be measured at horizontal position and vertical position as well by a simple vertical attachment. Even a top unit of stacked units from the production line can be checked by turning the apparatus upside down. Therefore, this single apparatus can be used in the laboratory, plant, and field measurements. Following an hour or two of practice, a technician or worker of average ability can make ten to fifteen temperature measurements per hour.
This D-100 apparatus has been sold more than two thousand units throughout the world for last 30 years. Let us know we can be of assistant to you in your work with sealed insulating glass.
